The double knit scarf I was working on before was taking too long and coming out too big, so I made up a simple chart and started a thinner one. Now with less screwing up!

I also did my part for the Dishrag Tag competition, but I’ll save that riveting post for another day.

Loved the motif so much (from this book) I immediately started another with the colors reversed:

Cast on 240 sts using 4 mm needles (i used 80 cm ones)
Place marker, join in a round. Be very careful not to twist the stitches.
Knit one round.
Next round knit 2 stitches together all the way to the end of the round (120 sts).
Switch to 4mm needles (60 cm)Knit for 8 more rounds.
Switch to 3 mm circular needles (60 cm) and knit for another 10 rounds

Knitting Stories

I did spend forever on the “be very careful not to twist the stitches” part. They kept twisting. I really thought I had gotten it under control, and knit the first round, then the k2tog round, and about six more before I realized…the stitches were seriously twisted.

I said a bunch of bad words. Stuffed the project back into its bag. Knit socks the rest of the evening.

Probably could not deal with that pink Cottonease just yet anyway. I think I will find something else to use. Stash diving, anyone? I could combine that with getting my stash on Ravelry…hm.

This week I finished two objects already! This one is so horrible. I dyed this yarn last year, and for some reason thought it might look cute as a pinwheel blanket. Fail. I have some left and may try dishcloths or something with it, or I might just set it on fire! (kidding…I think.) When I figure out how to post an Ugh! on Ravelry? This will be my first one. The pattern is great, and once this trauma has subsided I will try one with a nice pastel, non-blinding baby yarn. The crocheted shell edging adds a special ick to it, somehow.

I was churning out dishcloths for a bit too, but got tired of them. I am participating in the Dish Rag Tag this year and don’t want to use up all of my dishcloth mojo before it starts. So I picked hats for my mindless busywork projects.

Just finished casting on this cute little top for my girly child. Due to bad planning, I will actually be using the same yarn as the pink hat.

Also in progress, my nanner socks from Wendyknits. I think I’ve messed up the count more than a few times, and I really dislike the yarn, but finishing them will be a nice in between project when the pink cotton becomes too much!
